June 30 of this year is "Guangdong's Day of Helping the Poor and Assisting Those in Difficulties" and "Shenzhen's Day of Public Charity", as well as the preparation start day for the Fourth China Charity Fair in Shenzhen. The 2015 Guangdong's Day of Helping the Poor and Assisting Those in Difficulties & the Preparation Start Ceremony of Shenzhen Public Charity Month Activities and the Fourth China Charity Fair of Shenzhen was ceremoniously held at the Citizens' Center on the morning of June 30. Comrades from four leadership groups including Ma Xingrui (Deputy Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Secretary of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee), Guo Yonghang (a member of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee), Tian Fu (a member of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and member of Party Leadership Group of People's Government of Shenzhen Municipality), Liu En (the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress), and Wang Pu (the Vice-chairman of Shenzhen Municipal Political Consultative Conference) were presented in the relevant activities. About 300 persons including representatives from organs directly under the People's Government of Shenzhen Municipality, caring entrepreneurs, citizens' representatives, representatives from public charity organizations, and volunteers' representatives attended the preparation start ceremony. 

Before the preparation start ceremony, city leaders such as Ma Xingrui, Guo Yonghang, Tian Fu, Liu En and Wang Pu met some caring entrepreneurs' representatives and shook hands with them. In the meeting process, Mr. Ma Xingrui highly affirmed and praised the social circles and wide caring entrepreneurs for their actively participation in the pubic charity and the work of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties, and encouraged all enterprises to courageously undertake social responsibilities and proceed to make new contributions to the harmonious society construction in Shenzhen. Finally, city leaders posed for pictures with relevant caring entrepreneurs' representatives.

After the meeting, city leaders including Tian Fu, Liu En and Wang Pu attended the preparation start ceremony. Mr. Tian Fu delivered a speech of mobilization at the ceremony, and Du Peng (the director general of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality) presided over the ceremony. Mr. Tian Fu sufficiently affirmed the achievements that had been made since starting of activities of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties in 2010. Under the leadership of CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee and People's Government of Shenzhen Municipality, our city has invested a "Two-in-Place" relief fund of RMB2,800 million since 2010, implemented 152,000 "To-Village and To-Household" helping projects and benefited about 105,000 poverty-stricken families. Our city collected social funds and materials of about RMB600 million through activities of "Guangdong's Day of Helping the Poor and Assisting Those in Difficulties" and "Shenzhen Public Charity Month" in recent years, and effectively helped poor people or our province and our city and people of poor areas improve their production and living conditions. The public welfare undertaking of Shenzhen develops vigorously, volunteer service is available everywhere, public charity organizations grow rapidly, and there are abundant public charity projects. A series of brand charity activities such as "Labor Worker Care Action", "Recruit Volunteer Teachers to Support Education", and "Walk for Millions" were carried out and attracted all people to participate in charity activities with enthusiasm. The first three CCFs were the grand public charity meetings with the highest standard, largest scale and the most powerful influence in the public charity field of China, and won the high degree of recognition by all the organizers. Regarding the activities of "Guangdong's Day of Helping the Poor and Assisting Those in Difficulties" and "Shenzhen Public Charity Month" in our city this year, Mr. Tian Fu put forward several requirements for work: Firstly, the governments at all levels, relevant departments and units should attach high importance to and deepen understanding of these activities, unify actions into the decision deployment of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, constantly enhance the consciousness of social responsibilities and charity participation, make great efforts to push forward development of the undertakings of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties and charity work in our city, and enable the economic and social development achievements to better benefit people's livelihood and help the poor people; secondly, the governments at all levels, relevant departments and units should widely mobilize all the social circles to join relevant activities, seriously complete all the preparation tasks according to the activity requirements of "more sufficient mobilization, more diversified forms, and wider scope of participation" and by centering on the activity theme of "Help the Poor and Assist Those in Difficulties and Invite All to Participate", and solidly carry out the poverty alleviating donation and poor people visiting activities in diversified forms and with rich content such as "Care for Sanitation Workers", "One-Day Donation" and "One Yuan Donation"; moreover, bring into full play the media publicity and guiding functions, strengthen propagation and reporting of the activities of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties, charitable donation, and CCF preparation work, and spare no effort to create a good social atmosphere of helping the poor, assisting those in difficulties, and loving to do philanthropic work.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tian Fu pointed out, the CCF is an important national-level fair permanently settled in Shenzhen, as well as a useful exploration and innovation move of propelling development of public charity. The Fourth CCF will be held in Shenzhen in September of 2015. He hoped that people from all walks of life in our city will actively join the preparation work for this national grand charity gathering, and further integrate all kinds of social charity resources, thus pushing on new and rapid development of our charity activities and work of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties.

On the site of the preparation start ceremony, 28 enterprises and foundations such as Tencent Charity Foundation, Shenzhen Huaqiang Holdings Limited and Shenzhen Tongxin Charity Foundation held up plates for pledging, and donated a fund of RMB503.26 million to the work of helping the poor and assisting those in difficulties, public charity, and preparations of the Fourth CCF. Totally 132 government sectors, enterprises and public benefit organizations displayed their public charity achievements and exchanged information on the field.

After the preparation start ceremony ended, our city also conducted the public charity activity of "Walk for Love".
