On the morning of August 18, the Organizing Committee of the 8th China Charity Fair (hereinafter referred to as “China Charity Fair”) held a video conference. The meeting confirmed that the 8th Charity Fair will be held in Shenzhen from September 18 to 20 this year, with the theme of "fighting against poverty and creating a better life ".

The conference reported the overall plan and the progress of preparations of the 8th China Charity Fair, and conducted research and deployment on the implementation of the overall plan and the work of the fair. Participating units gave full affirmation to the overall program and ideas of the 8th China Charity Fair, and believed that the theme of the exhibition, focusing on "fighting poverty" for three consecutive years starting from 2018, was precisely positioned and fully implemented Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important spirit on poverty alleviation and development, as well as the important instruction spirit of epidemic prevention and control.

Chen Rugui said that as a national, comprehensive and international charity event, the fair has become an important carrier for serving our country's poverty alleviation cause over the past seven years, and an important platform for leading the high-quality development of philanthropy in China. Shenzhen attaches great importance to the holding of the fair and will earnestly implement the important expositions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on poverty alleviation, actively implement the concept of "being rich first, help rich, and join hands in a well-off society", accelerate the construction of the pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics, strive to create high-quality development highlands, demonstration cities under the rule of law, exemplary urban civilization, the standard of people's livelihood and happiness, and the vanguard of sustainable development, vigorously push forward the weak, and resolutely complete the poverty alleviation tasks assigned by the central and provincial governments on schedule, Shenzhen will conscientiously perform the responsibilities of the organizer, sum up the previous years' experiences, strictly implement the epidemic prevention and control measures, make all efforts to make preparations for the activities in accordance with the deployment requirements of the Organizing Committee in order to ensure the safety, smoothness, consummation, splendor and success, and strive to make the fair more level, more effective and more influential, so as to make greater contributions to China's final victory in building a well-off society and to fight against poverty and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone with outstanding achievements.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Li Ji-heng fully affirmed the fruitful achievements of the first seven sessions and the preparations for the eighth one. Li Jiheng pointed out that this year is the end of the battle of poverty alleviation, now it’s only four months from the end of the year, one month from the opening of the fair. At the key node of this decisive battle, we should be fully aware of the special significance of the fair and strive to hold this fair with higher standards, more practical measures, more effective success.

Li Jiheng stressed that the 8th China Charity Fair will focus on the theme of "fighting against poverty and creating a better life", adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 19th Party Congress and the Second, Third and Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and carry out the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important spirits on poverty alleviation and development into various links, such as exhibition and exchange, conference and discussion, resource docking, consumption and poverty alleviation. We should highlight the typical cases, innovative models and outstanding achievements of the social forces involved in the fight against poverty, fully demonstrate the experience and practices of anti-epidemic and poverty alleviation involved with philanthropy in China, and tell a good story and experience of China's struggle against poverty in these areas, so as to highlight the historical process and great achievements of China's fight against poverty. We should make the fair an important platform to publicize and carry out Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, an important platform to mobilize social forces to help fight poverty, giving full play to the leading role of the only national charity exchange and display platform in China to gather majestic charity forces and help win the overall victory of poverty alleviation.

Li Jiheng requests that combine with insisting on the “online” and “offline” activities, we shall highlight their poverty alleviation requests in most poverty-stricken area and in which has not been provided with the establishment of poverty alleviation archives and cards, fully call out all charity force to fight against poverty in a decisive way, targeting on our actual situations such as part of poor counties and part of poor villages still being in a poverty-stricken condition, and poverty stricken population that has been provided with the establishment of poverty alleviation archives and cards still not out of poverty. Focusing on the long-term development, we should get an extensive intellectual support for poverty alleviation and charity development based on core issues, weak links, key chains and charity development. We need to create a new way to do a good job of the "Cloud Charity Exhibition", expand the coverage and influence of the exhibition, so that all over the country and even all the countries in the world can participate in this event from the Internet, and further highlight the advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.

Li Jiheng stressed that the organizers and undertakers should conscientiously implement the decision-making plan of the CPC Central Committee to prevent and control the epidemic, adhere to the policy of "Safety First, Prevention First", further improve the work plan of prevention and control of the epidemic and emergency response plan, firmly establish awareness of group control, adhere to the principle of risk controllable, dynamic adjustment of the exhibition activities prevention and control measures. We should guard the safety bottom line, guard against all kinds of risks and ensure political safety and the safety of the lives and property of the guests. Each organizer should divide work to cooperate, strengthen responsibility, try hard to do new weather, new level, new result, to presenting a gift by successfully getting rid of poverty and building a well-off society in an all-round way as scheduled.
